Cherry Queen Candidate Norah VanWingerden

Miss Norah VanWingerden

Norah VanWingerden is the 19-year-old daughter of Brad and Janet VanWingerden of Kingsley, Michigan. She is a 2023 graduate of Grand Traverse Academy and is currently entering her junior year at Hillsdale College, where she is majoring in Biochemistry and pursuing the pre-medicine track. On campus, Norah works at Jitters, the local coffee shop, and actively participates in several volunteer initiatives that reflect her passion for service and healthcare. She is involved in Adopt-A-Grandparent, where she visits weekly with a senior resident; Hospital Volunteering, where she assists the lab department with filing; and Journal Buddies, a program that connects college students with local elementary schoolers through journal writing. Norah is also engaged in campus life through her involvement in the Pre-Professional Society and serves as the Director of Membership Selection for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi.

When back home in Traverse City, Norah works as a Universal Worker at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. She has held this role for the past three years and finds deep fulfillment in building meaningful relationships with the residents. In her free time, Norah enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's exploring the scenic beauty of Traverse City or playing pickleball with friends. Looking to the future, Norah has been drawn to the medical field since the age of 14 and aspires to earn her doctorate in Neuroscience. With a heart for service and a strong sense of purpose, Norah looks forward to continuing her journey toward a career dedicated to helping others.

Norah is graciously sponsored by Serbin Real Estate.
