Miss Callie Thomas
Callie is the 22-year-old daughter of Melissa Thomas of Elk Rapids. She graduated from Elk
Rapids High School in 2021 and is currently in her final semester at Brigham Young
University-Idaho, pursuing a major in Animal Science. She plans to begin applying to veterinary
school in the fall of 2026. While in Idaho, Callie enjoyed her clinical classes, explored national
parks, and participated in numerous student volunteer opportunities. Having recently moved
back home, she looks forward to spending time on East Bay, engaging with her community, and
eating lots of cherries.
Callie was honored to serve as the 2019 Miss Teen Elk Rapids. The opportunity to give back to
the community and serve as a role model to the young girls on her court and in the area left a
lasting impact and shaped her into the woman she is today. While at college Callie was called to
serve as the Relief Society President in her college ward, allowing her to deepen her involvement
in the college community through service and mentorship. She also served as a guide and role
model for her female peers through this role. Callie believes that the key to building a strong
community is connecting with people and understanding their stories.
If given the opportunity to serve as the next National Cherry Queen, Callie hopes to give back by
educating the youth about the importance of agriculture in the region and advocating for the
farmers who make the National Cherry Festival possible.
Callie is graciously sponsored by Williamsburg Animal Clinic & Samantha’s Serendipity Snaps.
