Thoughtful volunteers built an event over 90 years ago that's earned its place as an institution. The Festival’s traditions are as meaningful to the Grand Traverse Region today as they were at their inception over 90 years ago.

The Festival creates fond memories for many families within their summer celebrations. Every year we, and thousands of our local family, watch as first graders wave to their grandmothers atop their elementary school float at the Junior Royale Parade. We cheer on a son out-sprinting his father at the finish line of the Festival 5k. And we see brothers and sisters sitting side-by-side with hands behind backs preparing the claim bragging rights as worlds fastest eater of cherry pie. These are the very sights that make us proud. And they couldn't happen without our volunteers

Be an Ambassador Ambassadors are the lifeblood of the Festival.
The NCF was built by people for people. We are fortunate to have some of the most generous volunteers in the world. And it's those Ambassadors that make every moment magical for our visitors.

Volunteer Teams A Volunteer Team is any group of four or more individuals from local companies, civic/service groups, churches, and clubs (to name a few) that wish to volunteer together. It’s a fun way to build relationships within your organization and the community.

Community Share Groups A Community Share Group is group of five or more participants from a non-profit organization. These groups are assigned to specific volunteer shifts and in return for their hard work, the Festival provides the 501c3 organization with a donation.
