2021 National Cherry Festival FAQ

The National Cherry Festival is filling the calendar of July 3rd-10th full of multiple events for the community to celebrate the summer! The National Cherry Festival staff and volunteers have been taking the time to plan a safe cherry celebration to give everyone something to celebrate.

What events can we expect to see in 2021?

The staff and volunteers have closely evaluated each event on the regular schedule to provide the community with events that take into consideration the health and safety of attendees and locals. Events you will find on this year’s calendar include virtual events (such as the Porch Parade and GT Pie Company’s Virtual Make & Bake), fitness events (such as Zumba, Yoga, Cherry Pie Bike Ride, Meijer Festival of Race presented by Cherry Bay Orchards) and events at the Open Space (such as the Food Court and Beer Tent).In addition, the NCF is also working on relocating some other events to allow people to spread out and socially distance. These included the Arts & Crafts Show and the Old Town Car Show which will take place at the Grand Traverse Commons.

Are you having an Air Show in 2021?

The National Cherry Festival will not host an Air Show in 2021.We are looking forward to welcoming back the National Cherry Festival Air Show in 2022.

Will there be any concerts?

Bay Side Music Stage Concert series will not take place in 2021. We are excited for a return to concerts in July 2022.

How about Fireworks and Parades?

The announcement regarding parades and fireworks will be made at a future date

Will you have Ultimate Air Dogs?

At this time, it is our plan to host Ultimate Air Dogs. As soon as the dates and times are confirmed it will be listed on events calendar here.

Wait, What? The Festival is having a beer tent? How is that going to work with the pandemic?

Yes, the National Cherry Festival will host a beer tent, however it might be better described as beer area. As we look to reconfigure the festival grounds into a more pandemic friendly area, we are increasing the size of our beer area. The beer tent will be limited to the amount of people allowed under state guidelines at the time of the Festival in July. At all times, the Festival will work local and state officials when planning events.
