Million Dollar Hole In One
Hone your golf skills in preparation for the National Cherry Festival’s week long $1,000,000 Dollar Hole-In-One Golf Contest sponsored by Traverse City Junior Golf Foundation and Bay Meadows Golf Course. The eight-day event takes place July 7 through 13 at Traverse City’s ‘family friendly’ golf facility – Bay Meadows Golf Course, just minutes from the Festival Open Space. Festival-goers will take their best shots, Saturday, July 7 through Friday, July 13 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at a hole-in-one on a specially designed and built golf hole that measures 75 yards. The top fourteen closest to the pin winners will be asked to return for the final shoot out from 176 yards slated for Saturday, July 14 at 9 a.m. at Bay Meadows Golf Course.
Participant fee for the Million Dollar golf event are $5 for 7 balls; $10 for 15 balls; or $20 for 32 balls.
Traverse City Junior Golf Foundation was established as a key component of the TCJGA in order to provide children the opportunity to learn, participate and grow by playing golf. In addition, the Foundation is the fuel behind the continued success of this nationally recognized association.
The TCJGF has helped hundreds of kids take lessons and hit the links even if their families have not had the funds to participate. Over the years the TCJGA has given over $175,000 in college scholarships to members attending numerous colleges and universities across the state and country, including: Ferris State, Michigan and Michigan State.
Bay Meadows Golf Course is a partner with TCJGA in promoting junior golf experiences. The facility offers an executive 9-hole course, a 9-hole par three course, two practice greens, an expansive driving range and a well established Learning Center.
The mission of Bay Meadows is to provide golfers of all ages and abilities, particularly families, an enjoyable environment in which to learn, improve and further enjoy the game of golf. Festival Hole-in-One participants are invited to ‘stay & play’ a round of golf at special pricing.
