Heroes Day 2012

The National Cherry Festival will, for the fourth year, salute the many Heroes of today and yesterday during its Heroes’ Day on Monday, July 9th. But today, as we honor ALL VETERANS - THE NATIONAL CHERRY FESTIVAL IS MAKING A SPECIAL SALUTE TO VIETNAM VETERANS WHO THE FESTIVAL WILL PAY SPECIAL TRIBUTE to throughout the year leading up to Heroes’ Day 2012.

Festival-goers serving in all branches of the Armed Forces, firefighters, first responders, as well as Public Safety and Homeland Security Personnel will be recognized with a Festival Hero Medallion courtesy of Cherryland Electric Cooperative.

This year’s commemorative Heroes’ Day medallion will feature those who fought in the Vietnam War. Each year the Festival selects a branch of ‘Heroes’ to salute ALL HEROES. Last Year Fire Fighters were honored; years previous included Korean War Veterans and the Battle of the Bulge Veterans were featured in the inaugural year of the HEROES’ Day Program at the National Cherry Festival.
