The National Cherry Festival, in cooperation with the Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation Trails, Inc. (TART TRAILS), is proud to present the TART Cherry Bike Tour, on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Formerly known as the Old Mission Bike Tour, this revamped event will stroll along the TART Trails in Leelanau County to the MSU Horticultural Research Station. Enjoy rolling hills and orchard views along the 22 mile ride. Registration is now open! A portion of your registration fee will be donated to The TART Trails, Inc. Registration for Old Town Classic Vehicle Show participants starts at 8:00am and will finish around 11:30am. Spectators can view all Old Town Classic Vehicle's from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Cruise Night- Join other classic vehicle enthusiasts for a cruise night on Friday, July 6 starting at the Turtle Creek Casino. Staging begins at 5:00pm and the cruise leaves at 6:00pm. Cherry Connection Shuttle: Shuttles will pick up on the west side of the Traverse City Visitor's Center on Garland Street. Please look for the Cherry Connection shuttle sign. The bus is scheduled to leave every 1/2 hour from 9:30 a.m. until noon. The bus makes return trips back to Traverse City. From the open space in Traverse City, go west on Grandview Parkway (1.5 miles) which becomes M-22. Continue on M-22 for 4.4 miles to Crain Hill Road; turn left for .7 miles. Turn right on County Road 633 (Center Highway) for 2.8 miles. The Northwest Michigan Research Station will be on the left. Total driving time is 15 minutes.

This classic event returns to the streets of downtown Traverse City! This event will feature a Men's and a Women's Elite Mile Road Race on a USATF certified loop-style course through downtown, concluding on the corner of Front and Union streets just prior to the beginning of the DTE Energy Cherry Royale Parade. The elite field of racers will consist of high level collegiate and professional runners selected by Race Directors Bryan Burns and Eric Houghton. To apply, the minimum performance standards of 4:10 for the men's mile and 4:55 in the women's mile (or equivalent 800/1500m time) will be required. In order to maintain a competitive race field, each race will be capped at a maximum of 12 athletes.
